What function can I use in SAP to create additional financial statements?

Organizations often need to create additional financial statements across a fiscal year for several reasons. A fiscal year typically has 12 posting periods, however SAP FI via its general ledger accounting submodule has 4 special posting periods that split the last regular posting period for closing operations thereby allowing one to create multiple additional financial statements.
