What is the difference between a work center and a resource in SAP PP?

Both work centers and�resources�are�master data that reflect�a specific location where manufacturing activities are executed, based on defined order requirements. It can be an individual or group of individuals, a machine or group of machines.� Work centers are used in the discrete production while resources are used in process manufacturing. Technically, they are differentiated by a 4-digit control function called work center category.
